WP1: Compilation of existing knowledge and synthesis (UNEW + all partners)

Many strategies to optimize P management in both organic and conventional farming systems have been topics for research in agronomy over the decades. A lot of information is available, not only in peer-reviewed papers, but also in grey literature, unpublished PhD work, etc., often written in national languages. With issues of P supply becoming increasingly urgent, it is important for the OF sector to take stock of the current status of understanding on these topics, so that:

a) Useful information can be compiled and disseminated,

b) Knowledge gaps can be identified and future research efforts effectively targeted.

Within this WP, existing knowledge on the P status in organically managed fields as well as strategies to improve P use in OF will be compiled and published This includes alternative P fertilizers, plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPRs), P-efficient cultivars, cover crops and improved rotational design.
